Utility Billing

General Information

• The City sends out approximately 1,700 utility bills each month.
• Each residential bill includes services for water, sewer,trash, and garbage.
• Water meters are generally read around the 20^th of each month
• Bills are sent out during the first week of the following month
• The City of Tolleson operates a full service utility billing system

The Billing Process:

• Water department reads the meters and uploads the information into the utility billing system

• The Finance department reviews consumption and works with the Water department to investigate and correct any irregural consumption amounts.

To Start Services:
Water deposits are required before service can be started and amounts are listed below:

 $30 for residential services
 $50 for business and commercial services
 $1000 for construction hydrant meters
  ($200 of the $1000 is a non-refundable fee)

• The Finance department generates and prints the utility bills on site.

• Bills are sent out within one day of printing and payment is due 15 days from the bill’s print date.

Water Usage Volume Rates

Residential

• 0-3,000 gallons: $9.25
• Next 7,000 gallons: $2.52 per 1,000
• 10,001-30,000: $2.73 per 1,000
• Over 30,000: $3.50 per 1,000

Commercial and Government

• 0-3,000 gallons: $11.50
• Next 17,000 gallons: $3.00 per 1,000
• Over 30,000: $3.50 per 1,000

Service Rates

• All customers are charged a basic charge of $14.00 per month.
• All customers are also subject to the minimum water charges described below if account is kept open.
• Customers in service areas outside the city limits area are charged 1.3 times the monthly rates

Sewer Rates

• Residential: $10.00 to $10.50 per month flat fee
• Commercial and Industrial:

           Base fee: $8.00 and 1.25 cents per 1,000
           gallons of water consumption

Sanitation Rates

• Residential customers:          

            Monthly fee for trash - $7.50
            Monthly fee for garbage -$15.00

• Trash is non-contained items picked
  up from curb. Garbage is household
  waste placed in rubber container
  issued by the City       
• Commercial Customers:
  Monthly fee is determined by number of containers and pick ups per week.
