As the design phase of the new complex takes place, community engagement is an essential piece to the process, which is why last month's Coffee with Mayor and Council, a representative from the design team, Smith Group, was there to give a brief update and answer questions. The Smtih Group along with City staff also conducted finding sessions with the Tolleson Teen Council, Jobs for Arizona Graduates (JAG) Works teens, Tolleson High School student council students, the VFW Post 6310 officers and staff from the Tolleson Elementary School District. The groups shared what they would like to see in the new city hall complex.
The City would like to receive as much resident input as possible so in this month's newsletter you will find a survey where you could share your input. A new library and senior center will be a major part of the new city hall complex and the City would like to know what you think!
Help us by completing the insert and returning it to the Tolleson City Hall, 9555 W. Van Buren Street. Or find the survey at www.tollesonaz.org/newcityhall to obtain information pertaining to this project.

Dedication is one of many words to describe the amazing men and women that serve to protect our country. The City of Tolleson Council has dedicated the Tolleson VFW Country Festival to the Tolleson VFW Post 6310 in a tribute to the contributions the VFW continues to make to serve the community. This event is used to promote and recognize the contributions the Post makes to the community.
At the September 28th Tolleson VFW Country Festival veterans from the VFW Post 6310 were recognized for their outstanding work in the community. They received the "Outstanding Veteran Community Service Award" which was created in efforts to honor veterans for their continued dedication to serve. Veterans Frank Contreras, Manuel Elias, Rudy Elias, George Leon, Frank Leon, Harlan McPherson, Paul Saucedo and Stanley Trinidad received this award.
These individuals are some of the veterans that consistently assist with events in neighboring cities and events within Tolleson such as, the Easter Spring Celebration, Veterans Day, VFW Country Festival, Thanksgiving Family Adoption, Christmas toy drive and family adoption, and with the posting of colors during city parades and events with the Post 6310 post the American Flag during holidays in downtown Tolleson.
The City of Tolleson Council, staff and community want to thank ALL veterans for their dedication and passion to serve people.
